Wishcraft trips Chicboy, Stays alive

Wishcraft won over Chicboy, 70-55, to keep their quarter-final hope alive at the 7th season of the Grace Alumni Basketball League (GABL) Fellowship Division World Balance Cup at SGS Stadium in Quezon City.
Jonathan Yu, who sat out first six games of Wishcraft to rest his knees, had an impressive debut game this season for the Event specialist scoring 8 of his 10 points in the fourth quarter.
Cary Brian Sy and Jack Co had 15 and 14 points respectively to lead Wishcraft to their second win of the season. They must win their next game against Byzmo and hope that Gerry’s Grill, Chicboy and Supreme lose their final assignments to enter the quarter-final round via quotient system.
Benhur Quing Jr. had a game-high 24 points to lead Chicboy (3-4) who is schedule to play league leading Autokid (6-1) in their final elimination round game.
Patrick Thomas “PT” Chin scored 16 points to help Autokid Manila edge Zoom Couriers, 67-55, and spoil the come-back game of Hayden Kho.
Kho finished with a double-double performance (11 points, 10 rebounds) but was not enough to win the game for his team. The couriers now lost 3 of their last 4 games after starting the tournament with four straight wins.
World Balance is the tournament partner in strengthening friendship through sports and bringing the tournament to its new and first-class venue.
In the other games, Carbery Group dumped Besman Auto Supply 129-48 and Snowbird Sando Bags won over MK Enterprise 67-62.
Von Pelaez had a game-high 21 points and 7 steals for Sando Bag Makers who has a chance to seal the third seed and twice to beat advantage in the quarter-finals round if they beat Gerry’s Grill (3-4) in their final elimination round game.
Sydney Abrigo finished with 13 points for MK Enterprise (3-5) who lost 5 of their last 6 games after starting the tournament with a 2-0 record.
Other supporters of the tournament are Grace Christian College, Alpha Water Heater, Bounty Fresh Chicken, Great Wall Cars, Licton Industrial Corp and Batch 1978 of GCC.
Tournament is organized by Headstart and Sports Committee of Grace Alumni Association (GAA).
Former National Team Coaching Staff Reynaldo “Boy” De Vera was appointed commissioner of the tournament.
