Chicboy Grills Gerry’s, Koba Derails Autokid

Manchesteve Uy dominated the game with 20 points and 11 rebounds leading Chicboy-Lipton over Gerry’s Grill 52-44 in the 7th Grace Alumni Basketball League (GABL) Fellowship Division at SGS Stadium in Quezon City.
Jomar Albino and Kenson Ng combined for 21 points for Gerry’s Grill as the whole team shot poorly making only 16 of their 77 attempts in their debut game at the tournament presented by World Balance..
In a match of last season’s finalists, Defending champion Koba Shutters kept their slates clean with a 58-55 win over Autokid Manila team.
JV Ong led Koba with 14 points but it was the defense of veteran Tony Sy that made the difference. Sy finished with 7 points, 7 rebounds and season-high 8 blocks.
Sherwin Yao carried the fight for Autokid with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Former National Team coaching staff Reynaldo “Boy” De Vera is the commissioner of the tournament that is also backed up by Bounty Fresh Chicken, Licton Industial Corp, GCC batch 1978, Alpha Water Heaters, Great Wall Cars and Grace Christian College.
Tournament is organized by Sports Committee of Grace Alumni Association, Inc. and Headstart Management.
