Gerry’s Halts Snowbird, secures quarters slot.

Gerry’s Grill started slowly but still managed to edge Snowbird Sando Bags, 63-53, in the 7th Grace Alumni Basketball League (GABL) Fellowship Division – World Balance Cup at the SGS Stadium in Quezon City.

After trailing 12-20 at the end of first period of play, Gerry’s Grill sensed urgency and tightened their defense to start the second quarter, not allowing Snowbird to score more than 12 points on the succeeding quarters.

Wishcraft trips Chicboy, Stays alive

Wishcraft won over Chicboy, 70-55, to keep their quarter-final hope alive at the 7th season of the Grace Alumni Basketball League (GABL) Fellowship Division World Balance Cup at SGS Stadium in Quezon City.

Jonathan Yu, who sat out first six games of Wishcraft to rest his knees, had an impressive debut game this season for the Event specialist scoring 8 of his 10 points in the fourth quarter.

Koba smothers Carbery Group; Gerry’s blast Olympia

Defending Champion Koba Shutters routed Carbery Group, 73-54 in Grace Alumni Basketball League (GABL) Fellowship Division – World Balance Cup at SGS Stadium in Quezon City.

Handled by Coach Philip Lim, Koba held on to a 18-17 lead after the first quarter. The Defending champions then used their crippling defense to take the fight away from Carbery, not allowing their opponents to score more than 15 point from second quarter onwards.

Carbery Group downs Byzmo

Carbery Group edged Byzmo 55-54, in a battle for twice to beat advantage at the quarter finals of the Grace Alumni Basketball League (GABL) Fellowship Division – World Balance Cup at the newly constructed SGS Stadium in Quezon City.

With both team already assured of quarter finals slot, they must still win their remaining games in the elimination round to get to upper half of the standings were the top 4 quarter finalist has twice to beat advantage over the fifth to eighth placer.

Zoom, Carbery wins

Zoom Courier Services dumped Besman Auto Supply 88-61 while Carbery Group registered their second consecutive win at the expense of Snowbird 76-64 in the 7th Grace Alumni Basketball League (GABL) Fellowship Division – World Balance Cup at SGS Stadium in Quezon City.

The courier service providers relied on strong second quarter and strong defense to zoom past their opponents on their way to league leading (3-0) win-loss record.  Balance scoring was another key ingredient on this victory as all but one players fielded by Coach Johannes Ngo scored 4 points or more.

Autokid Drops Chicboy, helps MK Enterprise join q’finals

Autokid Manila eliminated Chicboy-Lipton’s quarter-final hope with a 63-57 win in the 7th Grace Alumni Basketball League (GABL) Fellowship Division – World Balance Cup at SGS Stadium in Quezon City.

Patrick Thomas “PT” Chin single-handedly matched the 13 point total output of Chicboy in the first period of play. Chin scored 18 of his team first 22 points of the game to help Autokid earn their seventh straight victory after starting the tournament with a 55-58 loss to the defending champion Koba Shutters.
